1945-ish MacPherson Blackwood Pipes w/ Hard Case 1

1945-ish MacPherson Blackwood Pipes w/ Hard Case

Wood and mounts are uncracked but pipes have been played a lot for over 50 years. Drones are very strong and lock in easily -- tested in my Strathmore mounts with Henderson reeds. Wood finish is used up and has been waxed over to protect bare wood by owner. Ferrules, mounts, and caps have discoloured and have dings you can feel (and in a few places see) but no major chips or cracks. Original chanter is uncarved. R.G. Hardie Blackwood Pipe Chanter w/ Sole 1

R.G. Hardie Blackwood Pipe Chanter w/ Sole

This early 1970s chanter was military issue. It has the ID stamps on the chanter below the Low G holes but I do not have a good enough camera to get a picture of them. "5043 /1 19 7C" The /1 is actually a 1 in/under a pyramid. The chanter is un-carved and gets along nicely with Melvin reeds. Nice lower pitch (near 466) chanter. It has a very small ding on the sole. No chips or cracks.
