I now use one of these chanters with easy Soutar reeds for my solo competitions and performances. My chanter with the Soutar reeds balance the A's at 475 in average Portland weather. Really nice sound across the scale. I tried several of the Soutar reeds and have only needed to tape down the E on the easiest of them. The Adrian Melvin and Murray Henderson pipe chanter reeds are also good matches for this chanter.
